Preparation
To fully participate and benefit, avoid eating substantial meals within 2 hours of class starting.
You will need to wear comfortable clothing/layers and bring your own non slip mat, a blanket, and drink.
You will be asked to complete a confidential form and update me with any physical or mental health issues you would like me to be aware of.
Yoga
Yoga is a sanskrit word meaning “union” and involves practices
which connect and support our mind, body and spirit’s wellbeing.
These can include:
Breathing to calm our minds.
Movements and postures which mobilize, strengthen and bring release to our bodies.
Restorative relaxation and mindfulness techniques.
About me
I am passionate about sharing my love of yoga with others and believe it has something to offer everyone.
I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to yoga whilst a teenager at school (it was a welcome alternative to the pressures of competitive sports) and it has been an important part of my fitness and wellbeing ever since. I’m now in my mid fifties and can still touch my toes amongst other things!
I have enjoyed exploring many different types of yoga over the years including spending time in South India studying Sivananda yoga . However, over the past 20 years I have studied Hatha Yoga more locally and completed a Certificate in Yoga Teacher Training through the British Wheel of Yoga.
As a registered BWY teacher, I am fully insured and bound by their professional codes of conduct.
